Mental Health Nurse General Practice North is a progressive Northern Tasmanian organisation working across a broad range of areas delivering quality programs to support general practice and primary care. We are seeking to employ a mental health nurse to join our experienced team of mental health nurses and psychologists. Our Mental Health Nurse program is funded by the Commonwealth's Mental Health Nurse Initiative and provides a specialist mental health service within the community setting for patients with severe mental health disorders (upon referral) at no cost to the patient. This diverse and challenging position will see you working closely in a small team of mental health nurses and collaborating with the Division's psychological service providers, GPs, psychiatrists and other mental health care workers in the management of referred patients. The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with specialist qualifications in mental health and experience in community mental health nursing. Duties will include comprehensive psychological assessment risk assessment, case management and crisis assessment. An understanding of general practice is advantageous. A competitive salary and generous salary packaging is available. Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Position will commence as soon as possible.
